Help for Supply Chain Anxiety

At Bolster, we ‘show’ not tell.

The war in Ukraine, global pandemic, and tensions in Taiwan have made supply chain visibility a hot topic for every business that produces or consumes physical goods. In response to this supply chain anxiety, numerous companies around the world have risen to the challenge, but in most cases, the actual solution they claim to offer is hidden behind so many “contact us” buttons that it’s hard to know if anything exists at all! At Bolster, we are distinguishing ourselves from our consulting-based competition by allowing potential customers to play with our live platform in hopes that they can better understand how it could fit into their business.

Iteration is in our bones…

Iterative development is one of the cornerstones of Bolster’s methodology, and experience has taught us that no plan survives first contact. We are looking for customers able to intuitively understand our products, as well as the potential to extend those products into their own domains. It’s especially important for us to iterate with innovative customers to apply Bolster’s cloud data mesh to new and business-critical problems like managing working capital in a world filled with logistics uncertainty. The proof’s in the pudding, where the rubber meets the road.

What exactly are we showing with this?

Our customers are decision-makers that need access to direct, on-demand insights and push-based notifications through a simple integrated user interface without having to work through a business intelligence analyst. Will they receive all the pieces needed to assemble their product in a timely fashion? Does a port delay mean they’re not getting paid when they expect to be? Is our organisation carrying reputational risk related to poor labour conditions? These are the types of questions we want senior leaders to be able to answer in real-time for next best actions.

Our Working Capital SMAQdash shows what’s possible when we enrich and contextualise enterprise transportation and logistics data within a broader freight model. Overlaying any business’ shipment tracking data (e.g. vessel names, vehicle identifiers, etc.) with globally relevant real time data streams (e.g. weather, port congestion, conflict, etc.) gives our customers instant context into their supply chain risks.

What does the future hold?

Over the next six months, we will expand our products to include multimodal transport (containers, trucks, air freight) and create specific lenses to illustrate how conflict, migration, and climate change will affect your supply chain resilience. We are also working on increased coverage of how your business’ transportation and logistics activities contribute to ESG metrics like emissions, labour rights, conflict, etc., in line with a broader hunger for improved ESG reporting.
