Welcome/Haere mai Hillfarrance

Bolster is excited to announce that we closed our $1M pre-seed investment round last week led by Rob Vickery and the outstanding team at Hillfarrance. With this support, our founders can move on to developing Bolster full time, build a team of elite engineering and product people, to bring our SMAQstack SaaS platform concept, initially, to global supply chain markets, with early traction in Australasia and North America.

You can read Hillfarrance's Senior Associate Alex Dam's excellent investment notes here.

Bolster co-founder and CEO Guy Phillips said, "It didn't take long for us to decide to team up with Hillffarance. From our first interaction, they really listened, were open and immediately helpful. They were regularly in touch, supporting and connecting us with others throughout the process. Clearly, they genuinely care about founders and are investing more than just money in New Zealand startups.

I'm appreciative of the vision, trust and decisive execution from Hillfarrance as we can now really begin to unearth data's full potential and get it in front of those that need it most to support customer organisations. I am also highly thankful to our pilot customers who believe in what we are doing. They have given their valuable time to help us with product discovery and confirming the problem sets - something we continue to do. Please get in touch if your organisation would benefit from using data across all levels, with insights being pushed to those that need them - at info@bolster.nz

The investment will allow us to grow. We are actively hiring senior roles across Product, Platform & Engineering and investing in experts to help us communicate the potential and power of what we are building to a wider audience."

Rob Vickery, Managing Partner at Hillfarrance, posted, "Any organisation that creates heaps of data often ends up with most of it being siloed, disregarded and/or laid dormant. However, from our experience, we think there is 24-carat gold within these vast uncorrelated data lakes!

It is for this reason that we were stoked to be introduced (thank you, Lovina!) to Guy Phillips and Steffen Merten late last year and to hear more about their vision for Wellington-based bolster. "

Partner Aisha Ross posted, "I had the pleasure of finally meeting (in person) and enjoying a kai and kōrero with Guy Phillips and Steffen Merten at Te Wharewaka o Pōneke earlier this year. Was excited by their sense of whānau, care for people and our environment, and passion for exploring the outdoors. Also super impressed with their depth of technical intelligence and experience. Collectively, they are a strong high-calibre pairing, who are on a shared mission to create proprietary technology that truly innovates on modern data infrastructure.

It's a real pleasure to partner up with the bolster whānau on their growth journey."

Bolster are looking for more pilot customers, so send us an enquiry to see how we can help your organisation.
